A Doxology of gender

Questions of gender, identity, and embodiment have become sources of deep confusion and division—both in our culture and within the Church. But this moment presents an opportunity: not merely to react, but to bear witness to something beautiful. The Church is called to recover a vision of man and woman shaped by doxology—that is, by the worship of the triune God whose creation of male and female reveals his glory.

This conference invites us to reflect on sexual difference as a meaningful and foundational aspect of God’s good design—revealing His wisdom, ordering human life, and participating in the mystery of Christ and the Church. What does it mean to be male and female in the image of God? What vision of the sexes does Scripture offer for human flourishing in family, church, and society? Together, we will pursue the wisdom of Scripture to guide us afresh in understanding and living this vision with clarity, conviction, and joy.

Speaker

The Rev. Dr. Mark Garcia, President and Fellow in Scripture and Theology at Greystone Theological Institute and associate professor of systematic theology at Westminster Theological Seminary. A pastor and theologian, Dr. Garcia has taught and written extensively on theological anthropology, calling the Church to consider “a doxology of gender” as a biblical and worshipful vision for understanding man and woman.
